Role Description

The Quality Engineer at Guardian Life plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge software products. This hands-on position involves developing and executing robust test strategies that align technical excellence with business objectives and end-user needs. With full knowledge of Scrum and SAFe frameworks required, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact releases. You'll also contribute to performance management by providing input on team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

This hybrid role (three days onsite in Holmdel, NJ) demands a blend of technical prowess, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills. Detailed Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies to guarantee software quality, reliability, and performance across all releases.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, stakeholders, and business teams to define testing requirements that align with Guardian's strategic goals and user expectations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using modern tools to maximize test coverage, efficiency, and regression testing.
  • Identify, analyze, document, and track defects through the entire lifecycle, driving timely resolutions and root cause analysis.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and SAFe PI planning, providing QA insights to enhance delivery.
  • Champion continuous improvement in QA processes, development lifecycle, and team practices to boost overall software quality.
  • Support performance management by offering objective input on team members' contributions and growth areas as requested.
  • Conduct exploratory testing, usability assessments, and performance benchmarking to ensure applications meet real-world demands.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices in test automation and quality gates.

Education & Experience

  • Familiarity with test management tools, version control (Git), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $82,770.00 - $135,975.00 (USD, yearly base pay).

This good faith estimate reflects base salary for the Holmdel, NJ location. Actual compensation is determined by factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for annual incentives, sales bonuses, or other performance-based compensation.
