Role Description

Guardian is seeking a dynamic Group Benefits Sales Representative to build and maintain relationships with premier brokers and plan holders. Success is measured by high production levels through broker development and internal collaboration. Reporting to the Market Leader in the Chicago territory, you'll market Guardian's comprehensive portfolio, including Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Absence, and Supplemental Health products, plus cutting-edge technology solutions. This role demands strategic sales acumen, territory management, and a passion for driving retention and growth in the competitive group insurance market.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Market, position, and sell Guardian’s full Group Benefits portfolio and technology solutions to designated brokers, covering Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Absence, and Supplemental Health.
  • Support broker and client relationships to foster Guardian sales growth and retention.
  • Analyze territory dynamics to build, develop, and maintain broker relationships, expanding the book of business while embodying Guardian’s vision to inspire well-being.
  • Achieve or exceed personal sales targets through deep product knowledge and tactical sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor market trends and anticipate consumer demands in group benefits.
  • Act as a market leader, sharing thought leadership and cultivating strong community ties in Chicago.
  • Identify and champion process improvements and initiatives to boost product sales.
  • Maintain all required industry licenses via ongoing Continuing Education.

  • Knowledge of industry products/processes: Worksite, LTD, Dental, complex absence, online enrollment, experience rating, dental network analysis.
  • Track record leading finalist meetings with C-suite, presenting solutions, and closing in up-market segments.
  • Soft skills: Collaborative, rapport-building (in-person/virtual), sound judgment/integrity in fast-paced environments, confident/proactive, accountable delivery.

Compensation Overview

Salary not disclosed. Base pay determined by education, experience, knowledge, and abilities. Eligible for annual, sales, or other incentives. Location: Chicago Regional Office, with up to 60% U.S. travel.

Role Description
