Role Description

As a Technical Lead/Lead Software Engineer at Guardian Life, you'll lead the development of resilient, high-performance public-facing web applications. Leverage your expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and AWS to architect scalable solutions that drive customer engagement and business results.

Detailed Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Architect and lead development of scalable, performant web applications using React, Next.js, Node.js, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices, code standards, and advanced JavaScript/TypeScript patterns.
  • Design and implement APIs (REST/GraphQL) with seamless third-party integrations, ensuring security and efficiency.
  • Drive innovation by modernizing legacy systems and creating creative technical solutions for business challenges.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, data teams, and leadership to deliver exceptional user experiences.
  • Optimize for web core vitals, performance management, and scalability using tools like Redis for caching.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (Jest), and agile methodologies in a team environment.
  • Champion security best practices, including OWASP compliance and handling PII data responsibly.

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $118,980 - $195,465 annually (base pay for primary New York location). Actual offer based on experience, education, skills, and abilities. Eligible for annual incentives, sales bonuses, or other compensation.
