Handshake is seeking talented and experienced Fine Artists (including Painters, Sculptors, and Illustrators) to participate in an innovative AI research project. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your artistic expertise to evaluate and improve AI models, without requiring any prior AI experience. As a Fine Artist in this project, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of AI in the art world, ensuring that AI models understand and accurately represent the nuances of artistic creation.

Day in the Life

As a Fine Artist in this project, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Evaluating artwork and content generated by AI models, providing feedback on accuracy, aesthetics, and relevance.
• Developing creative prompts to guide AI models in generating various types of artwork.
• Assessing AI model responses, identifying areas for improvement, and providing detailed feedback to AI researchers.
• Collaborating with other artists and AI experts to refine AI model performance and ensure high-quality output.
• Staying up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in both AI and fine art.
• Working independently and asynchronously, managing your time effectively to meet project deadlines.

   No, prior AI experience is not required. We are looking for experienced Fine Artists who can leverage their artistic expertise to evaluate and improve AI models.

3. How much time commitment is required?

   The hours are flexible, with no minimum commitment. Most artists average between 5-20 hours per week.

4. Can I work on this project alongside my primary employment?

   Yes, this is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside your primary employment.

5. What skills will I learn in this project?

   You will learn new skills in AI model evaluation, prompt engineering, and asynchronous communication, as well as gain a deeper understanding of the intersection of art and technology.

6. How will I be compensated for my work?

   You will be compensated at a competitive hourly rate for your time spent evaluating AI models and providing feedback.

7. What are the system requirements for working on this project?

   You will need a reliable internet connection and a computer with a web browser. No special software is required.

9. I am an F-1 student, can I apply?

   F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects on Handshake AI. Work with your Designated School Official to determine your eligibility. If your school requires a CPT course, Handshake AI may not meet your school’s requirements. STEM OPT is not supported.
