The role

As the Associate Director of App Marketing, you will take the lead in a critical function, overseeing a team dedicated to global, app-based customer acquisition across the diverse portfolio of HelloFresh Group brands. 

Your primary mission will be to strategically scale our App Acquisition efforts in a cost-effective manner, ensuring alignment with our overarching full-funnel customer journey and growth objectives.

What you’ll do

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team responsible for executing all app marketing campaigns across key channels, including App Store Optimization (ASO) and Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs)
• Drive channel efficiency by identifying and resolving technical and setup gaps that impede the efficient scaling of acquisition channels.
• Spearhead the launch of new, high-potential campaigns and app marketing initiatives globally.
• Build scalable infrastructure to enhance team efficiency, including the implementation of tools for budgeting automation and advanced measurement models like incremental regression analysis.
• Partner cross-functionally with Tech, Product, and other Marketing stakeholders to test, iterate, and scale improvements across the app funnel and user experience, directly boosting app-based customer acquisition rates.
• Coordinate the deployment of aligned messaging across ad creative and app store landing pages, collaborating closely with the Brand team and relevant Performance Marketing channels.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Data Product team to enhance the integration of app marketing data into our Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and other core marketing measurement frameworks.
• Work closely with the Tracking Team to continually improve the integrity of the current Mobile Measurement Partner (MMP) integration and optimize app tracking data pipelines.

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years of professional experience in Paid User Acquisition and ASO.
• 5+ years of experience leading and growing a high-performing app marketing team
• You bring an entrepreneurial mindset: you embrace ownership, make bold, data-driven decisions, and relentlessly pursue innovative solutions to drive sustainable growth
• Strong understanding of mobile tracking platforms (e.g., MMPs) including hands-on experience with integration and troubleshooting
• Experience interpreting, and optimizing multi-touch attribution models and/or marketing mix modeling (MMM)
• Ability to identify and close tech/setup gaps quickly (e.g., partner with product, tech, and marketing stakeholders to launch or optimize new campaigns)
• Understanding of digital marketing disciplines from digital display, paid social media, OTV, SEO, PPC, e-commerce, social media, and affiliate marketing
• Excellent communication skills. You will be the go-to person for multiple marketing and communication teams. Interpersonal skills are a prerequisite for success.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, testing new approaches, and learning from both successes and failures
