As a Purchasing Assistant Team Lead, you will take on a key responsibility in managing a team of Purchasing Coordinators within our International Supply Chain Operations function. Your role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our purchase orders to suppliers across all European markets. Working closely with the local Supply Chain teams, and Procurement your role will supervise the generation and distribution of purchase orders, contributing to our ongoing efforts to drive business success and enhance customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

• Manage a team of Purchasing Coordinators to accurately and efficiently carry out purchasing activities across Europe for a specified category area e.g. Protein, Grocery, Packaging, etc. This will be done in coordination with your line manager.
• Category management of our inbound supply chain operations involving operational supplier management, forecasting, purchasing, delivery tracking and KPI management for food and/or packaging 
• Accountability for key performance metrics including On Time, In Full (OTIF), Waste, ASN Compliance and customer errors for purchasing completed by you and your team
• Partner closely with HelloFresh supply chain cluster teams to execute daily operations through ruthless prioritization, clear governance and alignment on strategic initiatives. 
• Ensure data accuracy and correct flow of information to relevant stakeholders involved in the daily activities.
• Proactively coordinate with your line manager to resolve issues quickly.
• Leverage a reporting framework to escalate and manage risks  throughout the European supply chain.
• Regularly review your team’s capacity with your line manager to reallocate resources effectively and strengthen the service capabilities. 
• Generate documentation in the form of  SOPs to ensure efficient onboarding and BAU operations of your team.
• Compile tooling requests and recommendations, propose improvements to existing processes  
• Monitor reporting on performance of the Purchasing services, present to key stakeholders and provide actionable insights.
• Support to ensure that all team members meet their performance goals and deadlines.
• Serve as the subject matter expert of the team, role modeling problem solving behaviours 
• Remain flexible and responsive to changing business needs, supporting on day to day tasks as needed and covering absences when required

What you’ll bring

• At least a four-year college graduate  preferably with a strong background in Supply Chain Operations, Management or any Business-related course.
• At least two years experience working within procurement, supply chain and/or as a data entry clerk.  People management experience preferred, interest in people management required!
• Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Experience managing or reporting on KPIs
• Experience using Microsoft Office & Google suite programs (ERP/MRP systems is a plus)
• Language: English, other European languages considered a plus (German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian)
