What will I be doing?  

As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Spearhead the creation of detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Perform comprehensive analyses of financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for growth.

Lead revenue optimization and cost control initiatives to enhance profitability and drive operational efficiency.

Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance to design and execute financial strategies that align with the hotel’s core business objectives.

Deliver data-driven insights to guide strategic planning, capital investments, and long-term growth initiatives.

Evaluate the financial implications of operational changes and market dynamics to support agile decision-making.

Inspire, guide, and mentor the finance team to consistently achieve high performance and foster professional development.

Cultivate a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement across all financial operations.

Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and audit standards.

Streamline financial processes to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and overall operational effectiveness.

Support the development and implementation of standardized procedures for finance-related activities to ensure consistency and compliance.

Present clear, concise, and impactful financial updates and forecasts to senior leadership to support informed decision-making.

Collaborate effectively with department heads to align financial planning with operational priorities and business goals.

Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors and financial partners, to ensure trust and transparency.

What are we looking for? 

An Assistant Director of Finance serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.

• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA are considered a valuable credential.

• Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory reporting standards.

• Proven track record of progressive experience in hotel or hospitality finance, including demonstrated leadership and team management responsibilities.

• Pre-opening experience is an added advantage.

• Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.

• Demonstrated advanced financial and commercial acumen, with a proven ability to analyze, interpret, and articulate complex financial data to drive strategic decision-making.

• Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities, with a track record of motivating and managing high-performing finance teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, ownership groups, and external partners.

• Proficiency in financial systems and hotel management software.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
