Job Description

Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls is seeking a creative and innovative Lead Pastry Cook to support the hotel’s culinary offerings. The Canopy at Sioux Falls is proud to be recognized as an AAA Four Diamond property, offering refined, stylish accommodations and upscale service in a welcoming and sophisticated environment. A Pastry Cook is responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production and quality control of all bread, pastry, and dessert items. 

 

Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls Downtown is nestled in The Steel District, adjacent to historic Falls Park and overlooking the Big Sioux River. Our hotel offers guests a unique experience with thoughtfully designed rooms, artisanal breakfast, and evening tastings. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and amenities to our guests.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years pastry experience within a high volume kitchen/bakery working with cakes, breads, and various pastries.
  • Weekend availability and ability to varied shifts as needed is a must. Previous hotel or resort experience is a plus! 
  • Be responsible for ensuring high-quality production. 

What will I be doing? 

  • Participates in pastry production.
  • Creates/prepares/produces/bakes breads, rolls, breakfast pastries and desserts according to standard recipes for restaurants and banquets.
  • Decorates pastries/cakes with creativity and skill.
  • Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Trains, supervises, schedules and assists in evaluating staff
