The Area Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of the sales strategy and business development initiatives by developing and maintaining sales plans in Salesforce, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying growth opportunities for Singapore market. The Area Sales Manager is to cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers, prepare technical and commercial proposals, and manage the overall sales process while ensuring compliance and effective communication among internal stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role, reporting into Market Manager, Transformer Business Unit.

How you'll make an impact:

  • You will support Hub sales strategy and business development by maintaining Salesforce plans, monitoring progress, and proactively adjusting tactics to ensure all targets are met.

  • You will conduct market and competitor analysis to understand customer behavior and collaborate with supply chain teams to define strategic pricing and deliver performance reports to senior management.

  • You will identify growth opportunities through market data and customer feedback, cultivating strong relationships with key decision-makers and monitoring the financial health of active contracts.

  • You will prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial proposals, coordinating with bid and marketing teams to ensure technical compliance, financial accuracy, and alignment with strategic terms.

  • You will lead contract and purchase order negotiations, managing sales administration tasks in Salesforce and conducting risk reviews to streamline the end-to-end sales process.

  • You will manage the transition of contracts to project management, ensuring the release of bid bonds and providing product training to internal teams and customers to enhance sales efficiency.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Degree in Engineering background with sales and marketing experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales or business development in the energy industry, preferably knowledge of primary equipment i.e. transformer.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing successful sales plans within a competitive environment.

  • Proficient in analyzing market trends, customer feedback, and performance metrics to inform decision making and strategy adjustments.

  • Strong understanding of energy products, systems, and market dynamics, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively. Proficient in Salesforce application.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, conduct effective presentations, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
