The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will be part of an R&D Team specialized in the Technology development of dry-type Transformers and drives for product cost-out activities through appropriate design actions on Transformers.

2. You will be possessing knowledge of Chinese and International Standards & Codes – GB, IEC, IEEE, DIN, ISO for electrical design-related aspects of transformers and shunt reactors.

3. You will developing new ideas for transformer designs based on technology requirements and focused on the regional needs and works on standardizing schematics and supports R&D / manufacturing engineering projects.

4. You will be running verifications using 3D simulation tools (Dielectric/Electromagnetic/Thermal) to simulate different behaviors of the power transformers.

5. You will become local technical reference for Troubleshooting, Analyzing failures and document all activities, data, and information in line with procedures.

6. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a Master’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering and learning or work experience in transformers or relevant areas.

2. Experience in using commercial simulation tools (dielectric, magnetic, and/or thermal).

3. Willingness to learn and try new things and collaborate with others to achieve great results.

4. Experience in Research and Development activities related to power transformers and preferably have experience in designing and conducting experiments.

5. Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards related to power transformers.

6. Responsible team player with a structured and result-oriented work approach and knowledge of Computer Aided Design, 3D Modelling, CREO application is a plus.

7. Fluent in English (written and spoken) and willingness to travel.
