The Opportunity

As a General Accounting Business Partner, you will be an enabler of change and facilitate a resilient network connection between the local businesses and the Finance CSS Centers. By means of active stakeholder management, you will provide a true business partner experience, help to find solutions and connect the right people. Using a proactive role with strong focus on business needs and a critical but constructive stance, you can connect pieces of information together to offer assessments of financial issues.

How you'll make an impact

  • Act as a consulting partner and central bridge between internal stakeholders (Country Management, Business, and Functions) and Finance CSS Centers, ensuring smooth collaboration on accounting and reporting topics while serving as the key contact and escalation point.
  • Drive proactive stakeholder management by organizing and participating in recurring business partner meetings, ensuring alignment, transparency, and early identification of potential issues.
  • Build a deep understanding of the operational landscape and business models of each Business Unit to enable tailored, high‑quality financial support and guidance.
  • Develop, provide, and continuously update training materials and standardized templates to ensure consistent understanding and execution of core finance topics across all stakeholders.
  • Safeguard adherence to Group Accounting & Reporting policies by monitoring local finance processes, identifying gaps, and supporting the development of best practices for both Finance and the Business.
  • Lead in‑depth analysis of dedicated balance sheet items, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and support implementation of optimizations across teams.
  • Ensure the robust design and execution of local internal controls by collaborating closely with the Internal Control team, and assist the fiduciary responsible in preparing annual statutory financial statements.
  • Act as the local change leader for finance-related systems, processes, and projects, providing subject‑matter expertise, supporting group initiatives, and driving continuous improvement and adoption of new solutions.

Your background

  • University degree in Finance and Accounting or comparable professional education
  • At least 5 years of experience in General Accounting and Reporting
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory accounting standards (HGB, OR), excellent understanding of SAP S/4HANA FI/CO and project accounting
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Advanced communication skills and a deep understanding of change management principles, strong team player
  • High level of accuracy and a proactive, hands-on approach to tasks, strong delivery attitude, analytical and problem-solving mindset
