The Opportunity
 

This role is part of Hitachi Energy’s Service Business, focused on Digital Solutions that support field services, products, components, and systems across the power grid. You will partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales to deliver reliable solutions, enhance customer experience, and improve service excellence. Your work spans training internal teams and customers on new products, guiding troubleshooting for field service engineers, coordinating improvement projects, and reviewing technical drawings to align scope and execution. You’ll contribute across the product/service lifecycle—from development and launch through maintenance and customer support—while occasionally representing the business at industry events. Expect periodic travel (about 15–20%) to support project meetings, conferences, and customer visits.
 

How You’ll Make an Impact
 

  • Provide advanced technical support to Operations and Engineering on service digital products and solutions.

  • Deliver training on new products and services to internal teams and customers.

  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for Field Service Engineers.

  • Manage and coordinate improvement initiatives across the Service Digital portfolio.

  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of the BU Service digital portfolio in partnership with Product Service Centers, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.

  • Review technical drawings and documentation to clarify scope and align project needs.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to define training programs and sales initiatives that enhance customer experience.

  • Support the product/service lifecycle—from development and launch to maintenance and customer support—and represent the digital service business at trade shows and industry events.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.


Your Background
 

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an IT‑related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application engineering or service.

  • Skilled in Protection/Control relays, IEDs, SCADA, Supervisory Systems, equipment monitoring, electrical
    instrumentation, process instrumentation, process automation, communication protocols and similar.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to build solid relationships with customers and internal teams.

  • Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and capable of working independently; willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 20%.
