The opportunity:

As a Logistics Planning & Optimization Experienced Professional at Hitachi Energy Thailand, you will play a crucial role in implementing and continuously optimizing the Transport, Trade & Logistics (TT&L) operations. You will manage daily operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement of TT&L processes, tools, and services. Your efforts will ensure goods are shipped efficiently while meeting quality, legal, and cost parameters.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will utilize various transportation software systems for material movement, planning, and scheduling, including customs and trade applications, prepare and update monthly logistics schedules to ensure timely deliveries to warehouse and production locations and coordinate product delivery schedules with customers.

  • You will track the location and movement of inventory, finished goods, raw materials via all transport modes, re-routing freight as needed to meet demands and minimizing costs, communicating fulfillment status to Logistics and Sales organizations as appropriate. You will work closely with transport service providers and brokers to ensure efficient execution of processes, obtain necessary transport permits and codes, prepare proper transportation paperwork and import/export documentation.

  • You will support the development and implementation of improved processes and systems, maintain master data, identify improvement areas, define root causes, apply process improvement methodologies and active change management and standardize transportation processes to ensure all parties follow the nominated processes for transport execution.

  • You will ensure compliance with all local and global shipping regulations, optimize the distribution network and customs procedures, leverage possible free trade benefits, implement pre-defined Best Practices, identify and describe new Best Practices to ensure high-standard operations across TT&L.

  • You will work closely with transport partners to resolve issues and provide directions, share, launch, deliver continuous improvement projects within the transportation area and deliver on budget and targets within the framework, ensuring Logistics performance targets are achieved.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • You hold a diploma in Logistics Management or MBA in Logistics or Operations Management from a recognized institute.

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain management.

  • Experience supporting Logistics and Customs operations in Thailand.

  • Full understanding of local transportation (within country), import, export, trade and customs operations.

  • Good relationships with local and global transport suppliers. Knowledge of SAP GTS Customs Management and SAP S/4HANA is preferred.

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
