How you’ll make an impact

  • People and Strategy Act as a role model for the behavior required to support a Quality and Continuous Improvement culture. Influence factory employees to ensure the correct thinking and decision making that is required to support the implementation and execution of Quality and Continuous Improvement Strategies.
  • Act independently to factory as an internal advocate for customers in Quality related issues and decisions. Manage factory Quality, including the roles, capability development, work force management and succession.
  • Responsible for Quality Control and Assurance activities (Incoming Inspection, Supplier Improvement, In-Process Quality, Quality Management methods, Problem Solving, RCA of failures, CoPQ reduction, Preventive approach to drive quality and deliver excellence)
  • Drive towards a learning organization by enhancing lessons learned and best practices. Coach and guide the quality team and OU employees in quality methods and tools.
  • Customer Focus Act as an advocate for the Customer by ensuring the Voice of Customer is collected by the factory through the customer feedback processes (e.g. T-NPS, customer surveys etc.). Ensure the results of customer feedback data are analyzed and responded effectively.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by evaluating the risks, problems and solutions from a quality and customer/stakeholder point of view. Ensure Customer Care Response Process (CCRP) implementation within OU.
  • Quality Management System Establish, implement, maintain, and continuously improve applicable Quality Management System. Identify areas for improvements in the interactions of the OU with Sales and Global Product Group Management and propose solutions. Oversee processes in cooperation with process owners to ensure effective and efficient management of the processes, measuring with appropriate process metrics.
  • Ensure effective change management processes are established and followed within the OU including change in product features, design, processes, suppliers, materials, or customer specifications. Ensure right process and tools are in place for OU documentation and all the relevant documents (e.g. quality procedures, work instructions, specifications etc.) are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Manage and coordinate OU audit programs and associated actions. Audit and Certification Perform audits and ensure the use of analytics of Quality data from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures and non-conformances within the Operating Unit, its suppliers, and customers.
  • Ensures that appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken, and solutions are managed to closure. Coordinate and manage certification activities, Hitachi Energy and customer audits within the area of responsibility to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, Hitachi Energy regulations and customer expectations.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • B.E. – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with 12-15 years of experience in switchgear/ circuit breaker manufacturing environment required.
  • Hands-on experience in field of quality Control / Assurance
  • Lean six Sigma – Green Belt (must), black belt (preferred)
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders/ cross functions at multiple locations.
  • Experience of working with Global teams.
  • Working knowledge of SAP QM Module
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office and both spoken-written English language is required
  • Self-motivated and self-organized. Open-mindedness and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical aptitude and thinking, strong data collection, and analytical skills for a complex project
  • Excellent communication skill, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with various functions across the organization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
