The opportunity 

Join Hitachi Energy as an R&D Electrical Engineer in High Voltage and become part of a forward-thinking team driving innovation in high-voltage bushing technology. In this role, you’ll tackle complex engineering challenges, contribute to the development of next-generation energy solutions, and help bring new products to market.   • Take ownership of diverse engineering tasks within R&D projects, applying your technical expertise and independent problem-solving skills

  • Understand key business drivers and use this insight to deliver impactful results aligned with Hitachi Energy’s goals

  • Contribute innovative ideas to ongoing projects and propose new initiatives within your technical domain

  • Act as a valuable team member or sub-project leader, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards

  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in energy systems, and apply this knowledge to improve operations and customer satisfaction

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, share your expertise, and support the team in delivering high-quality outcomes

Your background

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering

  • 2–5 years of experience in R&D within a business environment with focus on high voltage

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Solid understanding of energy systems and transformers; experience with bushings is a plus

  • Ability to align R&D activities with business processes and strategic goals

  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate requirements into technical solutions

  • Awareness of intellectual property considerations in the R&D lifecycle

  • Open-minded, collaborative, creative, and eager to learn
