The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy and play a key role in supporting transformer repair operations at our Stoney Creek facility. As a Technical Advisor, you’ll bridge the gap between engineering and production, ensuring every repair job runs smoothly and meets customer expectations. Working on the afternoon shift , you’ll create job routers, provide technical guidance, and lead job reviews that shape the quality and efficiency of our processes. Your work will directly contribute to delivering reliable energy solutions while driving cost reduction and process improvements.

SHIFT: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm – 2:00 am

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Attend pre-quote review meetings to support accurate job planning.

  • Prepare work scopes based on customer purchase orders for all repair jobs.

  • Assist in developing quality plans and job binders for windings and transformer repairs.

  • Identify and help resolve quality issues and non-conformances.

  • Lead Gate 2, Gate 4, and Gate 5 job reviews with production teams to ensure proper execution.

  • Act as a conduit between the shop and engineering for day-to-day technical needs.

  • Request, assist, and issue engineering notices (ENs) to the shop as required.

  • Ensure jobs are delivered on time according to the customer delivery schedule.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.

  • Advanced technical degree or equivalent experience.

  • Preferably 10+ years of related repair/service shop experience.

  • ISO 9000 experience.

  • Proficient with MS Office, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
