Overview

Join Honeywell's innovative AI team as an Advanced AI Engineer, where you'll lead the design and development of cutting-edge AI algorithms, models, and systems. Reporting directly to our Senior Director of Software Architecture, you'll serve as the subject matter expert on technical AI projects and best practices. Based in our state-of-the-art Atlanta, Georgia facility with a flexible hybrid work schedule, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive AI solutions that power Honeywell's aerospace, building technologies, and performance materials businesses. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/ML models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn to solve industry-specific problems.
  • Lead end-to-end AI projects, from data pipeline architecture to model optimization and production deployment on cloud platforms such as AWS SageMaker or Azure ML.
  • Conduct research and experimentation on state-of-the-art techniques, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI, ensuring scalable and robust solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with software architects, data scientists, and domain experts to integrate AI into enterprise systems.
  • Perform model evaluation, validation, and continuous improvement using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and explainability tools (e.g., SHAP, LIME).
  • Ensure AI systems comply with ethical standards, data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and Honeywell's safety-critical requirements.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends by contributing to patents, publications, and internal knowledge sharing.

  • Strong experience with Python, including data processing libraries (NumPy, Pandas) and ML frameworks (experience)
  • Hands-on expertise in cloud-based AI services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) (experience)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on scalable, production-ready AI solutions (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning or Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace, industrial IoT, or safety-critical AI applications (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement AI algorithms and models for real-time applications in Honeywell's product lines
  • Lead the development of data pipelines for training and inference, ensuring high-quality, labeled datasets
  • Optimize AI models for edge deployment on resource-constrained devices using techniques like quantization and pruning

  • Conduct rigorous testing, A/B experiments, and performance tuning to achieve production-grade reliability
