Reporting directly to our Senior Director of Software Architecture, you'll serve as the subject matter expert on technical AI projects and best practices. Based in our state-of-the-art Atlanta, Georgia facility with a flexible hybrid work schedule, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive AI solutions that power Honeywell's aerospace, building technologies, and performance materials businesses. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex challenges in real-world applications, from predictive maintenance to autonomous systems, in a Fortune 100 company renowned for technological leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced AI/ML models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn to solve industry-specific problems.
- Lead end-to-end AI projects, from data pipeline architecture to model optimization and production deployment on cloud platforms such as AWS SageMaker or Azure ML.
- Conduct research and experimentation on state-of-the-art techniques, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI, ensuring scalable and robust solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with software architects, data scientists, and domain experts to integrate AI into enterprise systems.
- Perform model evaluation, validation, and continuous improvement using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and explainability tools (e.g., SHAP, LIME).
- Ensure AI systems comply with ethical standards, data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and Honeywell's safety-critical requirements.
- Stay ahead of industry trends by contributing to patents, publications, and internal knowledge sharing.

- Hands-on expertise in cloud-based AI services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) (experience)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on scalable, production-ready AI solutions (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or related field (experience)
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning or Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer (experience)
- Experience in aerospace, industrial IoT, or safety-critical AI applications (experience)
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement AI algorithms and models for real-time applications in Honeywell's product lines
- Lead the development of data pipelines for training and inference, ensuring high-quality, labeled datasets
- Optimize AI models for edge deployment on resource-constrained devices using techniques like quantization and pruning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define AI requirements and integrate solutions into software architectures
- Conduct rigorous testing, A/B experiments, and performance tuning to achieve production-grade reliability
- Drive innovation by prototyping emerging AI technologies and contributing to Honeywell's IP portfolio
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on AI best practices and code reviews
