Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and statistical algorithms to solve real-world problems in predictive maintenance, optimization, and anomaly detection.
  • Act as the subject matter expert, providing insights on data science best practices and guiding project teams on technical implementation.
  • Translate business requirements from leadership into actionable data strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead end-to-end data science projects, from data exploration and feature engineering to model validation and production deployment.
  • Continuously enhance analytical methodologies by experimenting with emerging techniques like deep learning, reinforcement learning, and generative AI.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and domain experts to integrate data solutions into Honeywell's global platforms.
  • Conduct rigorous model evaluations, performance tuning, and documentation to ensure reproducibility and scalability.

Summary

As an Advanced Data Scientist here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing technical insight and acting as the subject matter expert in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis projects.   • 5+ years of professional experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis in a tech or industrial environment (experience)
  • Proven track record of deploying ML models in production environments (experience)
  • Experience with large-scale datasets and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) (experience)
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python and/or R (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field with publications in peer-reviewed journals (experience)
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning or Google Professional Data Engineer (experience)
  • Experience in industrial IoT, aerospace, or manufacturing domains (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize advanced machine learning models for predictive analytics and optimization in Honeywell's core business units
  • Lead data science initiatives by defining project scopes, methodologies, and success metrics in partnership with business leaders
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling on diverse datasets including time-series and sensor data
  • Collaborate with software engineers to productionize models using MLOps practices and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the evolution of Honeywell's data science toolkit and best practices
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies to enhance analytical capabilities and drive innovation
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and visualizations to influence executive decision-making
