Advanced Embedded Engineer

Location: India | Workplace Type: Hybrid

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects involving IoT, edge computing, and AI-integrated embedded platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and processors using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments.
  • Develop and integrate real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or VxWorks for safety-critical applications.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, debugging, and optimization using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Lead firmware development for wireless communication protocols including BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and CAN bus.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards like MISRA C and DO-178C.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define requirements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, documentation, and agile sprint planning.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded applications (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS and bare-metal programming on ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontrollers (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, ADC) (experience)
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and agile methodologies (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB (experience)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, or device drivers (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop low-level firmware for embedded devices ensuring high performance and reliability
  • Optimize power consumption and memory usage in battery-operated systems
  • Implement secure boot, encryption, and OTA update mechanisms for IoT devices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in multi-threaded embedded environments
  • Develop automated test frameworks using Python or CUnit for CI/CD pipelines
  • Participate in design reviews and risk assessments for safety-critical systems
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to technical roadmaps
