Advanced Embedded Engineer

Location: India | Workplace Type: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement real-time embedded software for microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems using C/C++ and RTOS.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers for peripherals such as sensors, actuators, communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet, UART), and power management ICs.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, including board bring-up, firmware optimization, and performance tuning for resource-constrained environments.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and validation using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers, to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews to ensure adherence to MISRA C standards, DO-178C, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Support product lifecycle activities, from concept prototyping to production deployment and field issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded environments with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or Linux) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex-M, Renesas, NXP) and hardware protocols (experience)
  • Experience with embedded debugging tools, version control (Git), and agile methodologies (experience)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance or work with sensitive avionics/industrial data (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB, or MISRA compliance (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems (DO-178C, ISO 26262) or wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for real-time control systems using C/C++ and assembly language
  • Implement and optimize communication stacks for protocols like Modbus, CANopen, Ethernet/IP, and I2C/SPI
  • Lead hardware-software co-design efforts, including schematic review and PCB bring-up
  • Perform static and dynamic analysis for code quality, memory leaks, and timing constraints
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop test harnesses and automate regression testing
  • Drive innovation by prototyping advanced features like edge AI/ML on embedded platforms
  • Document designs, generate compliance reports, and support manufacturing transitions
