Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and processors used in avionics, IoT devices, and industrial controls.
- Develop low-level drivers, firmware, and middleware using C/C++ and RTOS such as FreeRTOS or VxWorks.
- Perform hardware-software integration, debugging, and optimization to ensure compliance with safety standards like DO-178C and MISRA.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define requirements and resolve complex technical issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices.
- Support product lifecycle from concept through deployment, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained embedded environments (experience)
- Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
- Strong understanding of embedded hardware protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) (experience)
- Familiarity with embedded testing tools and methodologies (e.g., unit testing frameworks, static analysis) (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline (experience)
- Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB for embedded testing (experience)
- Experience with aerospace standards (DO-178C, ARP4754A) or automotive (AUTOSAR, ISO 26262) (experience)
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers in aerospace and industrial IoT applications
- Implement and optimize real-time algorithms for sensor data processing and control systems
- Integrate peripheral drivers and communication stacks while ensuring low-latency performance
- Lead debugging efforts using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers to resolve hardware-software issues
- Perform code reviews, static analysis, and maintain MISRA compliance for production-grade software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into embedded implementations
- Contribute to continuous integration pipelines and automated testing for embedded systems
