Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) in safety-critical applications.
  • Develop firmware for sensor integration, signal processing, and low-power IoT devices using C/C++ and assembly languages.
  • Perform debugging, optimization, and validation of embedded systems using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to ensure seamless integration.
  • Conduct design reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to meet stringent quality and performance standards such as DO-178C or MISRA.
  • Drive innovation in edge computing and AI/ML acceleration on resource-constrained embedded platforms.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded systems development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proven expertise in real-time embedded programming with C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M, AVR, or similar MCUs (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of hardware-software interfacing, including peripherals like I2C, SPI, UART, and ADC (experience)
  • Familiarity with embedded security protocols and functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded development (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with wireless protocols (Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, LoRa) and AI/ML on embedded devices (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance embedded firmware for complex control systems and IoT edge devices
  • Lead the integration of sensors, actuators, and communication modules in resource-constrained environments
  • Optimize code for power efficiency, real-time performance, and reliability under harsh operating conditions
  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and system-level validation with emulation tools
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to define interfaces and resolve PCB-level integration issues
  • Implement secure boot, encryption, and over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms for production deployments
  • Document designs, generate compliance reports, and support product certification processes
