Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and SoCs used in avionics and industrial IoT devices.
  • Develop low-level drivers, firmware, and middleware using C/C++ for ARM Cortex-M/RISC-V processors.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.
  • Optimize embedded systems for power efficiency, real-time performance, and reliability in harsh environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance with safety standards (e.g., DO-178C, MISRA).
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in embedded AI, edge computing, and secure boot mechanisms.

  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained embedded environments (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks) and bare-metal programming (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet) (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards like DO-178C, ISO 26262, or functional safety (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded development (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, or device drivers for Linux kernel (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and SoCs in aerospace and industrial applications
  • Implement and optimize real-time algorithms for sensor data processing and control systems
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and validation of embedded software using emulators and hardware-in-the-loop setups
  • Integrate communication protocols and security features to ensure robust system performance
  • Lead design reviews, perform static code analysis, and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers
  • Document designs, develop technical reports, and support product certification processes
