Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced embedded software and firmware for real-time systems using C/C++ and RTOS.
  • Develop and integrate hardware-software interfaces, including drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication protocols.
  • Lead debugging, optimization, and performance tuning of embedded systems to meet stringent safety and reliability standards.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and validation using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, firmware teams, and product managers to define system architecture and requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, ensuring adherence to MISRA C and DO-178C standards.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in embedded security, edge computing, and low-power design.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development (experience)
  • Proven track record in firmware development for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, STM32, etc.) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet) (experience)
  • Experience with embedded testing tools and methodologies (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or related discipline (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB (experience)
  • Experience in safety-critical systems (e.g., aerospace avionics or automotive) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded software for resource-constrained devices using C/C++ and assembly
  • Implement low-level drivers and middleware for hardware peripherals and sensors
  • Optimize code for power efficiency, memory usage, and real-time performance
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolve complex firmware issues using debuggers and protocol analyzers
  • Collaborate on system-level integration and participate in design reviews
  • Document designs, develop test plans, and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Prototype and validate new embedded technologies for product roadmaps
