Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and processors using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments.
  • Develop and integrate firmware for communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Optimize embedded systems for low power consumption, high reliability, and real-time performance in safety-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and quality assurance to deliver robust solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain version control with Git, and ensure compliance with industry standards like MISRA C and DO-178C.
  • Prototype and validate embedded systems through hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and field trials.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development for real-time systems (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC) (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware interfaces and peripherals (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-178C) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded development (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, or device drivers (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for complex control systems using C/C++ and assembly
  • Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication modules into embedded platforms
  • Lead debugging and root cause analysis for hardware-software integration issues
  • Implement power management and optimization strategies for battery-operated devices
  • Collaborate with product management to define technical requirements and specifications
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct peer code reviews
  • Support system-level testing and certification processes for regulatory compliance
