Advanced Embedded Engineer

Location: India | Workplace Type: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced embedded software for microcontrollers and processors using C/C++ in real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or VxWorks.
  • Develop and integrate firmware for sensors, actuators, and communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, and wireless interfaces (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and emulators to ensure high reliability and performance.
  • Optimize embedded systems for low power consumption, real-time responsiveness, and scalability in resource-constrained environments.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to define requirements and validate designs against industry standards (e.g., MISRA, DO-178C).
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in development processes using Agile methodologies.
  • Support product deployment, field testing, and root cause analysis for embedded systems in production environments.

  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for embedded environments with RTOS (experience)
  • Experience with hardware-software integration, debugging, and firmware development (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, AVR) (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards like MISRA C or ISO 26262 (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent (experience)
  • Certifications such as ARM Accredited Engineer or ISTQB for embedded testing (experience)
  • Experience with model-based development tools like MATLAB/Simulink or AUTOSAR (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for real-time control systems using C/C++ and RTOS
  • Integrate communication stacks (Ethernet, CAN, wireless) and optimize for performance and power efficiency
  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation
  • Debug complex issues using lab equipment and static/dynamic analysis tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into embedded implementations
  • Mentor team members and conduct peer code reviews to maintain high code quality
  • Document designs, contribute to risk assessments, and support regulatory compliance
