Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ and RTOS on ARM Cortex-M processors.
  • Architect firmware solutions for IoT-enabled devices, ensuring low-power operation and seamless integration with cloud platforms.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging using tools like JTAG debuggers and oscilloscopes to achieve zero-defect deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define system requirements and validate prototypes.
  • Implement security features such as secure boot, encryption, and OTA updates to meet industry standards like MISRA and ISO 26262.
  • Drive continuous improvement by conducting code reviews, optimizing algorithms for performance, and documenting best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained microcontrollers (experience)
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr (experience)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN (experience)
  • Proven track record of delivering embedded projects from concept to production (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems or Computer Science (experience)
  • Certifications in ARM architecture or Functional Safety (e.g., ISTQB, MISRA) (experience)
  • Experience with wireless protocols (Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) and IoT frameworks (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems, focusing on real-time performance and reliability
  • Develop and maintain drivers for sensors, actuators, and communication peripherals
  • Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of complex firmware issues using advanced tools
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to co-verify board-level designs and perform hardware-software integration
  • Optimize power consumption and memory usage through algorithmic improvements and profiling
  • Conduct thorough testing including unit, system, and regression tests with coverage metrics
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps for embedded platforms
