Advanced Embedded Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and DSPs used in avionics and industrial control systems.
  • Develop and debug low-level drivers, firmware, and RTOS-based applications using C/C++ and assembly languages.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and verification of embedded systems to ensure compliance with safety and functional requirements.
  • Optimize algorithms for power efficiency, real-time performance, and resource constraints in resource-limited environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and quality assurance to deliver robust solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in embedded systems, IoT, and edge computing to drive innovation.

Skills Required

  • Expertise in C/C++ and Assembly for embedded systemsintermediate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development for real-time systems (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR) and RTOS (FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or Linux embedded) (experience)
  • Experience with embedded debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and version control systems (Git) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces, peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN), and low-level optimization (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, or MISRA C (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with model-based development tools like MATLAB/Simulink or AUTOSAR (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded firmware and drivers for safety-critical applications in aerospace and industrial domains
  • Lead the integration and testing of embedded systems, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations
  • Analyze system requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable embedded software architectures
  • Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and power consumption in constrained environments
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, static analysis, and unit/integration testing to ensure zero-defect delivery
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to resolve interfacing issues and validate system-level functionality
  • Document designs, develop technical reports, and support certification processes for regulatory compliance
