Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement advanced embedded software for real-time systems using C/C++ on microcontrollers and SoCs.
  • Develop and integrate firmware for sensors, actuators, and communication protocols in safety-critical environments.
  • Perform debugging, optimization, and validation of embedded systems to meet stringent performance and reliability standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, systems architects, and product managers to deliver robust solutions.
  • Conduct design reviews, unit testing, and integration testing using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and emulators.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C, MISRA, and ISO 26262 for avionics and automotive applications.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in embedded development processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development for real-time systems (experience)
  • Proven expertise in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, AVR, etc.) (experience)
  • Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or VxWorks (experience)
  • Strong knowledge of embedded hardware interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards like DO-178C or Functional Safety (IEC 61508) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline (experience)
  • Certifications in Embedded Systems (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer) or Functional Safety (experience)
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Yocto, or device drivers development (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop low-level firmware and drivers for embedded platforms using C/C++ and assembly
  • Lead the integration and testing of embedded systems in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments
  • Optimize code for power efficiency, memory constraints, and real-time performance
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolution of complex embedded software issues
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to define interfaces and validate system-level functionality
  • Document designs, create test plans, and support certification processes for avionics/industrial products
  • Stay abreast of emerging embedded technologies and propose innovative solutions
