Advanced Embedded Engineer

Location: India | Workplace: On-site

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement real-time embedded software for microcontrollers and processors used in aerospace and industrial control systems.
  • Develop low-level drivers, firmware, and RTOS-based applications ensuring high reliability and performance under constrained resources.
  • Perform hardware-software integration, debugging, and optimization using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
  • Conduct thorough testing, including unit, integration, and system-level tests, while adhering to DO-178C and MISRA C standards for safety-critical software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, systems architects, and quality assurance, to deliver robust embedded solutions.
  • Analyze system requirements, create technical documentation, and support product lifecycle from concept to deployment.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in embedded systems, IoT, and edge computing to drive innovation.

Skills Required

  • Expertise in C/C++ for embedded systemsintermediate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development for industrial or aerospace applications (experience)
  • Proven experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or QNX (experience)
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for resource-constrained embedded environments (experience)
  • Experience with embedded hardware platforms like ARM Cortex, STM32, or NXP processors (experience)
  • Familiarity with safety-critical standards such as DO-178C, ISO 26262, or equivalent (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline (experience)
  • Certifications in embedded software development (e.g., ARM Accredited Engineer, ISTQB) (experience)
  • Experience with model-based development tools like MATLAB/Simulink or SCADE (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop embedded firmware for safety-critical applications ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Optimize algorithms and code for power efficiency, real-time performance, and minimal memory footprint
  • Integrate communication protocols including CAN, Ethernet, UART, SPI, and I2C for device interfacing
  • Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of complex hardware-software issues using advanced tools
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality and best practices
  • Collaborate on system-level design and participate in design reviews for new product introductions
  • Support certification processes and generate traceability matrices for regulatory compliance
