Advanced Field Service Engineer

As a key player in our Field Service Operations, you will troubleshoot complex systems, implement upgrades, and ensure optimal performance for Honeywell's global customer base. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Honeywell's industrial control systems, avionics, and HVAC technologies at customer sites across the US.
  • Lead root cause analysis for system failures, developing and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and enhance reliability.
  • Conduct site assessments, installations, and commissioning of complex equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as FAA, OSHA, and ISO.
  • Train customer technicians and internal teams on system operations, troubleshooting techniques, and software updates.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales teams to provide field insights that drive product improvements and new feature development.
  • Document service activities, generate detailed reports, and maintain accurate records in Honeywell's service management systems.
  • Respond to emergency service calls, traveling as needed to resolve critical issues within SLA timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in field service engineering for industrial automation, aerospace systems, or building controls (experience)
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems in field environments (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically, with valid driver's license and willingness for occasional international travel (experience)
  • Strong safety orientation with knowledge of OSHA, FAA, and industry-specific regulations (experience)
  • Experience with service reporting tools and CRM systems (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Field Service Engineer (CFSE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or OEM-specific Honeywell training (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell products like Experion PKS, ControlEdge, or aerospace avionics systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues in real-time on customer premises using diagnostic tools and Honeywell proprietary software
  • Execute system upgrades, retrofits, and software patches to enhance performance and cybersecurity
  • Perform risk assessments and develop service plans for high-reliability systems in mission-critical applications
  • Mentor junior field engineers and deliver technical training sessions to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Analyze field data to identify trends and recommend proactive maintenance strategies
  • Ensure all service activities comply with contractual obligations, safety protocols, and quality standards
  • Generate comprehensive service reports and present findings to customers and Honeywell leadership
