Advanced Field Service Engineer

Location: International (Hybrid Workplace)

As an Advanced Field Service Engineer in Honeywell's Building Automation (BA) business unit, you will deliver cutting-edge technical support to global customers, troubleshooting complex issues in building management systems, HVAC controls, and automation technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues in building automation systems, including Niagara Framework, BACnet, and LonWorks protocols.
  • Perform on-site installations, commissioning, and optimization of Honeywell BA solutions to meet customer specifications.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement preventive measures to enhance reliability.
  • Provide expert training and knowledge transfer to customer teams on system operation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams to develop customized service strategies and support new product rollouts.
  • Maintain detailed service reports, documentation, and compliance with industry standards like ISO 9001.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in field service engineering for building automation or industrial controls (experience)
  • Proven expertise in HVAC systems, building management systems (BMS), and control networks (experience)
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% and adapt to hybrid work environments (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in diagnosing complex technical issues (experience)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain necessary security clearances (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Niagara 4/AX certification or Tridium/JACE expertise (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell's WEBs or Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) platforms (experience)
  • International field service experience in EMEA or APAC regions (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair advanced faults in building automation systems using diagnostic tools and software
  • Lead on-site commissioning, testing, and startup of complex BA projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and optimize system performance
  • Interface directly with customers to assess needs, provide technical recommendations, and deliver exceptional support
  • Document service activities, generate reports, and update system databases for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, product management, and sales to resolve escalations and innovate solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions on Honeywell technologies and best practices
