Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) compliant with IEC 61511 and ISA 84 standards at client sites internationally.
- Conduct risk assessments, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) verifications, and proof-testing to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and clients, to design and implement customized SIS solutions.
- Provide expert training and knowledge transfer to client personnel on SIS operations, diagnostics, and best practices.
- Generate detailed technical reports, as-built documentation, and recommendations for system optimizations and upgrades.
- Travel internationally (up to 50%) to support global projects, responding rapidly to service calls and emergencies.
- Leverage Honeywell's digital tools, such as Experion PKS and Safety Manager, to enhance service delivery and predictive maintenance.

- Proven expertise in functional safety standards including IEC 61511, IEC 61508, and ISA 84 (experience)
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% and ability to work in hybrid model (experience)
- Strong Portuguese and English communication skills; additional languages preferred (experience)
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain necessary work visas for international assignments (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Functional Safety (experience)
- TÜV Functional Safety Engineer (FSE) certification or equivalent (experience)
- Experience with Honeywell Safety Manager, DeltaV SIS, or Experion systems (experience)
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex SIS failures using advanced diagnostic tools and root cause analysis methodologies
- Lead on-site commissioning, loop checks, and FAT/SAT testing for new SIS installations
- Perform SIL verifications, proof tests, and partial stroke testing on safety valves and logic solvers
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies to maximize SIS uptime and compliance
- Interface with clients to gather requirements, provide technical consultations, and deliver post-service reports
- Mentor junior technicians and support knowledge sharing within the Honeywell services team
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades and digital transformation using Honeywell Forge analytics
