Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced hardware architectures, including PCBs, FPGAs, and embedded systems for high-reliability applications.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping using industry-standard tools like Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.
  • Conduct hardware testing, validation, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and automated test equipment.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and systems engineering teams to integrate hardware with overall product solutions.
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and compliance efforts for standards such as DO-254, IPC, and MIL-STD.
  • Optimize hardware for power efficiency, thermal management, and signal integrity in mission-critical environments.
  • Support manufacturing transition, including DFM/DFA analysis and yield improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware design and development for embedded systems or aerospace/industrial applications (experience)
  • Proven track record with PCB design, schematic capture, and layout tools (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping, testing, and debugging (experience)
  • Familiarity with hardware standards and compliance (e.g., IPC, DO-160) (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Experience with FPGA design and VHDL/Verilog (experience)
  • Certifications such as IPC Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) or Six Sigma (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design complex multi-layer PCBs and hardware subsystems for high-reliability applications
  • Develop and execute hardware test plans, including environmental and EMI/EMC testing
  • Perform signal integrity analysis and power distribution optimization using simulation tools like SPICE
  • Lead hardware design reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices
  • Collaborate with supply chain to select components and ensure design-for-manufacturability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in lab and field environments
  • Document designs, generate reports, and support regulatory certification processes
