Advanced Hardware Test Engineer

Location: Clearwater, FL (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for advanced aerospace hardware, including environmental, vibration, thermal, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
  • Lead root cause analysis and failure investigations using advanced diagnostic tools to improve system reliability and reduce field failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, quality assurance, and manufacturing, to integrate test strategies into the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations using tools like LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.
  • Validate test equipment calibration and ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and AS9100.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements in test methodologies and documentation.
  • Support certification and qualification efforts for flight-critical hardware through rigorous data analysis and reporting.

  • Proven experience with environmental and reliability testing standards (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python (experience)
  • Strong understanding of hardware diagnostics, signal integrity, and failure analysis (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance due to ITAR/EAR requirements (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as Certified Test Engineer (CTE) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute detailed test plans and procedures for aerospace hardware components under various stress conditions
  • Perform data acquisition, analysis, and reporting using advanced instrumentation and software tools
  • Lead failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) and corrective action implementation to enhance product robustness
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize test coverage and reduce development cycle time
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring traceability and compliance with industry regulations
  • Document test results, generate certification reports, and present findings to stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in test processes, leveraging lean methodologies
