We are seeking an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II - NPI to join our innovative New Product Introduction (NPI) team. In this critical role, you will drive the transition of cutting-edge products from design to high-volume manufacturing, ensuring scalability, quality, and cost-efficiency across our aerospace and advanced manufacturing divisions. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to collaborate in state-of-the-art facilities while leveraging remote capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new products, including design for manufacturability (DFM) analysis and process validation.
  • Lead cross-functional NPI teams through all phases, from prototype builds to production ramp-up, utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles, statistical process controls (SPC), and Six Sigma tools to achieve defect-free production.
  • Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis, and corrective actions to mitigate risks in high-precision assemblies.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance to qualify suppliers and tooling for NPI launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reducing cycle times and costs while maintaining compliance with AS9100 and ISO standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support technology transfers to global manufacturing sites.

Salary

60,000 - 120,000 USD / yearly

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in new product introduction (NPI) within aerospace, automotive, or high-tech manufacturing industries (experience)
  • Proven track record in process development and optimization for complex assemblies (experience)
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) (experience)
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (experience)
  • Experience with additive manufacturing, robotics, or digital twin technologies (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate scalable manufacturing processes for NPI products using tools like PFMEA, DOE, and SPC
  • Lead NPI gate reviews and phase transitions, ensuring on-time delivery and cost targets are met
  • Collaborate with R&D, suppliers, and operations teams to integrate new technologies into production lines
  • Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing issues using 8D methodology and implement robust corrective actions
  • Optimize tooling, fixturing, and automation solutions to enhance yield and throughput
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for high-volume production scalability
  • Support pilot builds, capability studies, and PPAP submissions for customer approvals
