Job Overview

As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve operational excellence and innovation. Reporting directly to the Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, you will work out of our state-of-the-art facility in Phoenix, AZ, on a hybrid schedule that balances collaboration and flexibility. This position offers the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge technologies in aerospace and industrial manufacturing to enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce cycle times and improve yield rates.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for production issues, utilizing tools like PFMEA, SPC, and 8D problem-solving.
  • Develop and deploy advanced automation solutions, including robotics, PLC programming, and digital twins for smart factory environments.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality, and supply chain teams to transition new products from design to high-volume production seamlessly.
  • Conduct process capability studies and implement data-driven improvements to achieve cost reductions and productivity gains.
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional projects to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries (experience)
  • Proven track record in process optimization and continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt certification preferred) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems, and automation technologies (experience)
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (experience)
  • Experience with digital manufacturing tools like Siemens NX, PTC Creo, or Autodesk Inventor (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced manufacturing processes to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and ensure product quality in high-volume production environments
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using DMAIC methodology to achieve measurable gains in efficiency and cost savings
  • Develop and qualify new manufacturing equipment and tooling, including robotics integration and vision systems
  • Perform failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and implement robust quality control measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions (NPI) and technology transfers
  • Analyze production data using advanced analytics to identify trends and drive predictive maintenance strategies
  • Mentor and train production teams on best practices for safety, quality, and productivity
