Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: India | Workplace Type: On-site

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize advanced mechanical components and assemblies using state-of-the-art CAD tools, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME and ISO.
  • Perform detailed finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs under extreme operating conditions.
  • Lead the development of prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and iterate designs based on test data to achieve superior performance and durability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems engineers, manufacturing experts, and quality assurance, to integrate mechanical designs into full product architectures.
  • Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments to proactively mitigate potential design flaws and ensure product safety.
  • Support manufacturing transition by generating detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and process documentation using tools like Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean principles to streamline design processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors (experience)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or Abaqus for structural analysis (experience)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical tolerancing principles (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full product development cycles from concept to production (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or specialization in Finite Element Analysis (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., FAA, EASA) or additive manufacturing techniques (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative mechanical designs for complex systems, optimizing for weight, strength, and thermal performance
  • Execute tolerance stack-up analyses and design validations to ensure manufacturability and assembly feasibility
  • Lead design reviews and present technical findings to stakeholders using data-driven insights
  • Integrate sensors and actuators into mechanical assemblies for smart, connected products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design issues during prototyping and production phases
  • Contribute to patentable innovations and technical publications
  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory, safety, and environmental compliance requirements
