Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 and ISO tolerances.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs for stress, thermal, and vibration performance.
- Lead design reviews and prototyping efforts, iterating based on test data and stakeholder feedback to optimize manufacturability and cost.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering to integrate designs into production workflows.
- Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments to enhance product reliability in demanding environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

- Hands-on experience with FEA tools like ANSYS or Abaqus for structural analysis (experience)
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical drafting standards (experience)
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
- Professional certification such as Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
- Experience in aerospace component design or regulatory compliance (e.g., FAA, AS9100) (experience)
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical systems using advanced CAD tools
- Execute structural, thermal, and dynamic simulations to predict and mitigate design risks
- Prototype and test mechanical designs, analyzing results to refine iterations for optimal performance
- Lead multidisciplinary design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams
- Integrate sustainability considerations into designs, focusing on lightweight materials and energy efficiency
- Document design processes, generate reports, and support patent filings for innovative solutions
- Collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure seamless transition from design to production
