Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual design, modeling, and analysis of complex mechanical systems using advanced CAD tools and simulation software.
  • Develop and validate prototypes through rigorous testing protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME, ISO, and aerospace regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing experts, to integrate mechanical designs into full product architectures.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to optimize designs for durability, weight reduction, and thermal performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, providing technical leadership on best practices and innovation.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation from concept to production, ensuring on-time delivery of high-reliability solutions.

  • Proven proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or NX (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and GD&T principles (experience)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, injection molding, and additive manufacturing (experience)
  • Experience with design for reliability, DFMEA, and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional certification such as PE (Professional Engineer) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or defense applications with knowledge of DO-160 or MIL-STD standards (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced mechanical components and assemblies for high-reliability applications using state-of-the-art CAD and simulation tools
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses including structural, thermal, and vibration testing to validate design integrity
  • Lead design reviews and risk assessments to mitigate potential failures and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for producibility and cost-efficiency
  • Prototype and test mechanical systems, iterating based on empirical data and customer feedback
  • Document designs comprehensively and support transition to production, including tooling and fixture development
