Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize complex mechanical systems, including structural components, thermal management solutions, and precision mechanisms using CAD software like Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Perform detailed finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and tolerance stack-up studies to validate designs against performance, durability, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead prototyping, testing, and iteration processes to ensure designs meet aerospace, automotive, or industrial specifications such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing experts, to integrate mechanical designs into full product assemblies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design reports, DFMEA analyses, and BOMs, to support product lifecycle management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to reduce costs and enhance reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to innovation projects aimed at sustainable and energy-efficient mechanical solutions.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, or NX) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) (experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with mechanical prototyping, testing, and validation processes (experience)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, materials science, and manufacturing processes such as CNC machining and additive manufacturing (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR and EAR compliance (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Professional certifications such as Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Six Sigma Green Belt (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., FAA, NASA) or advanced composites and lightweight materials (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design innovative mechanical systems and components using advanced CAD and CAE tools to meet customer specifications and performance targets
  • Conduct structural, thermal, and vibration analyses to ensure design robustness under extreme operating conditions
  • Lead design reviews, risk assessments (FMEA), and failure mode investigations to mitigate potential issues early
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to transition designs from concept to production seamlessly
  • Develop test plans and execute validation testing on prototypes to verify compliance with industry standards
  • Innovate sustainable design solutions, optimizing for weight reduction, energy efficiency, and recyclability
  • Document designs comprehensively and support patent filings for novel mechanical inventions
