Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize complex mechanical systems using CAD software like SolidWorks or Creo, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASME and ISO.
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate designs under extreme conditions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping, testing, and iterating advanced mechanical prototypes for aerospace and industrial applications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to transition designs from concept to production seamlessly.
  • Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and root cause investigations to improve product reliability and performance.
  • Develop technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and engineering change orders.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo) (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS or Abaqus (experience)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and mechanical tolerances (experience)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience with additive manufacturing or advanced composites (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative mechanical designs for high-precision components using advanced CAD and simulation tools
  • Lead the execution of design reviews, prototyping, and validation testing to meet performance specifications
  • Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges through tolerance stack-up studies and material selection
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software systems
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design processes
  • Ensure all designs adhere to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and Honeywell quality management systems
  • Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders, including cost-benefit analyses for design alternatives
