Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and commission advanced PLC-based control systems for automated material handling equipment, ensuring seamless integration with AI and robotics.

  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance strategies for complex control architectures.

  • Proven expertise in designing and deploying control systems for robotics and conveyor-based logistics (experience)
  • Experience with safety-rated PLCs and compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, CE) (experience)
  • Strong proficiency in system integration testing and commissioning in fast-paced environments (experience)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for on-site installations and client support (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science (experience)
  • Certifications such as Rockwell Automation Certified Control Systems Lead Designer or Siemens Certified Programmer (experience)
  • Experience with AI/ML integration in industrial controls or vision-guided robotics (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and program PLC logic using ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks for high-speed sortation and AS/RS systems
  • Integrate vision systems and robotic arms with PLC controls for pick-and-place automation in warehouses
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on networked control systems (Ethernet/IP, Profinet) to minimize downtime
  • Develop custom control algorithms for optimizing material flow and energy efficiency in logistics operations
  • Lead design reviews and FAT/SAT processes for multi-million-dollar automation projects
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices in controls engineering and emerging technologies
  • Document control system designs, generate as-built drawings, and support ongoing system enhancements
