Honeywell is currently hiring an advanced Software Engineer for their Richmond, VA location.   • 5+ years of professional experience in software development for complex systems, preferably in aerospace, industrial automation, or defense (experience)
  • Proven track record of designing and integrating real-time embedded software (experience)
  • Experience with full software lifecycle methodologies (Agile, DevOps) (experience)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to innovate novel solutions (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance due to ITAR/EAR compliance (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or AWS Certified Developer (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell products or similar industrial IoT platforms (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate highly complex software functions for embedded and real-time systems using C++, Python, and Java
  • Plan and execute software development goals, applying expert judgment to prioritize tasks and mitigate risks
  • Generate innovative solutions by experimenting with novel algorithms, AI/ML models, and optimization techniques
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration and system performance
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to maintain high-quality standards
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for production issues and implement robust fixes
  • Document software designs, architectures, and processes for knowledge sharing and compliance
