Location: Clearwater, FL (Hybrid, after initial 90-day onsite period) | Reports to: Sr Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect advanced multi-domain systems integrating hardware, software, and firmware for aerospace applications.
  • Implement and optimize system models using tools like SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, and DOORS for requirements traceability.
  • Lead system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) processes to ensure compliance with DO-178C and DO-254 standards.
  • Manage complex projects from concept through deployment, mitigating risks and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers to troubleshoot issues and enhance system performance.
  • Conduct trade studies and performance analyses to innovate safety-critical systems.
  • Document designs, generate reports, and present findings to stakeholders and leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex aerospace or defense systems (experience)
  • Proven track record with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools (experience)
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development and certification standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, verification, and validation processes (experience)
  • U.S. Person status (due to ITAR/EAR compliance) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field (experience)
  • INCOSE certification (e.g., CSEP or ESEP) (experience)
  • Experience with avionics systems or real-time embedded systems (experience)
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps practices in engineering environments (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design advanced systems using MBSE tools like Cameo Systems Modeler or Enterprise Architect
  • Develop and maintain system requirements, architecture, and interface specifications
  • Lead integration and testing of multi-disciplinary systems, resolving complex technical challenges
  • Perform risk assessments, failure modes analysis (FMEA), and trade studies to optimize system performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and quality assurance to deliver robust solutions
  • Support certification and compliance activities for regulatory bodies like FAA or EASA
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes
