Overview

Reporting directly to our Senior Engineering Program Manager, you will work out of our state-of-the-art facility in Phoenix, AZ, on a hybrid schedule that balances collaboration and flexibility. Key Responsibilities

  • Architect complex FMS solutions, including trajectory prediction, 4D navigation, and performance optimization algorithms.

  • Proven expertise in DO-178C/DO-254 processes and ARP4754A/ARP4761 safety analysis (experience)
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody, or MATLAB/Simulink) (experience)
  • Strong understanding of ARINC 702A/424 standards and FMS performance requirements (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance due to ITAR/EAR regulations (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field (experience)
  • Certification in INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with RTCA DO-297 for integrated modular avionics (IMA) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect FMS subsystems for trajectory computation, flight planning, and contingency management
  • Develop and validate system requirements using MBSE methodologies and traceability tools
  • Conduct system-level simulations and hardware-in-the-loop testing for FMS integration
  • Lead design reviews, failure modes analysis (FMEA), and certification artifact generation
  • Collaborate with certification authorities (FAA/EASA) to ensure airworthiness compliance
  • Optimize FMS algorithms for fuel efficiency, noise abatement, and Required Navigation Performance (RNP)
  • Mentor team members and contribute to proposal development for new aerospace programs
