Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design of complex aerospace systems, including requirements analysis, system modeling, and interface definition using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Develop and integrate subsystems for avionics, propulsion, flight controls, and mission systems to ensure seamless interoperability and compliance with DO-178C and DO-254 standards.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and verification/validation activities to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and test engineers, to deliver integrated solutions on schedule.
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to translate mission-critical requirements into robust system architectures.
  • Drive innovation through advanced simulation, digital twin technologies, and agile development methodologies.

  • Proven expertise in architectural design of complex systems using MBSE methodologies (experience)
  • Experience with aerospace standards such as ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254 (experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage system integration projects (experience)
  • U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance due to ITAR/EAR requirements (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (experience)
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent certification (experience)
  • Experience with digital engineering tools like Cameo, SysML, or MATLAB/Simulink (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Architect end-to-end aerospace systems, defining functional and physical architectures to meet stringent performance and safety requirements
  • Perform requirements decomposition, allocation, and traceability using tools like DOORS NextGen
  • Lead system-level trade analyses, simulations, and prototyping to evaluate design alternatives
  • Oversee integration, verification, and validation of subsystems in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and ensure on-time delivery
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams and interface control documents
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to process improvements in agile systems engineering practices
