Job Overview

As an AI Engineer II at Honeywell, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing cutting-edge AI algorithms, models, and systems to solve complex business problems across our diverse portfolio. Reporting directly to our Senior Director of Software Architecture, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to deliver scalable, efficient AI solutions that drive innovation and operational excellence. Working out of our state-of-the-art facility in Atlanta, GA on a hybrid schedule, you’ll contribute to high-impact projects in aerospace, industrial automation, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models, including deep learning architectures for computer vision, natural language processing, and predictive analytics.
  • Optimize AI systems for production environments, ensuring high performance, scalability, and low latency in cloud and edge computing scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into Honeywell’s software platforms and hardware systems.
  • Conduct data analysis, feature engineering, and model evaluation to improve accuracy and reliability of AI-driven applications.
  • Lead prototyping and experimentation of new AI technologies, providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and Honeywell’s quality assurance processes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and contribute to research initiatives that align with business objectives.

  • Proven track record of building scalable AI systems using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn (experience)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) (experience)
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with familiarity in C++ or Java for performance-critical applications (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or related field (experience)
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Machine Learning or Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace, industrial IoT, or safety-critical systems (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI/ML algorithms to address complex business challenges in automation and aerospace domains
  • Develop and optimize deep learning models for real-time applications, including edge AI deployments
  • Lead end-to-end AI project lifecycles, from data ingestion and model training to deployment and monitoring
