Location: Phoenix, AZ | Workplace: On-site

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electronic components using hand tools, power tools, and precision fixtures according to detailed blueprints, work instructions, and Honeywell quality standards.
  • Perform in-process inspections and final quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual aids to ensure products meet stringent specifications and zero-defect goals.
  • Operate light manufacturing equipment, such as torque wrenches, presses, and soldering stations, while adhering to lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following 5S methodology and Honeywell's safety protocols to uphold a hazard-free production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to resolve assembly issues, suggest process improvements, and achieve daily production quotas.
  • Accurately record production data, including part numbers, quantities, and defects, in Honeywell's ERP system for traceability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in team huddles, safety training, and kaizen events to drive operational efficiency and support Honeywell's commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

  • Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) (experience)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards (experience)
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced production environment (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational certificate or associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, or related field (experience)
  • IPC-A-610 certification for electronics assembly (experience)
  • Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing industries (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex products from kits using engineering drawings, bills of material, and router instructions to exact specifications
  • Conduct dimensional inspections and functional tests on assembled units, documenting results and reporting non-conformances
  • Set up and operate manual and semi-automated assembly equipment while monitoring for optimal performance
  • Identify and escalate process deviations or quality issues to support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and material flow using barcode scanners and Honeywell's manufacturing execution system
  • Adhere to all EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policies, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in Gemba walks and suggesting efficiency enhancements
