Location: United States (Torrance, CA) | Workplace: On-site

Overview

As an Assembler - Level 4 at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in our Aerospace Technologies division, assembling and inspecting high-precision products to meet rigorous quality standards. Leveraging your advanced mechanical assembly skills, you will contribute to production goals, drive operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, you’ll work out of our state-of-the-art facility in Torrance, California, on a fully on-site schedule, ensuring hands-on collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex mechanical and electronic subassemblies using blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions with high precision.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize defects and downtime.
  • Operate and maintain specialized assembly equipment, including torque tools, soldering stations, and automated machinery.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support process improvements and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives like Kaizen events.
  • Maintain accurate production records, update ERP systems, and adhere to Honeywell's safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  • Mentor junior assemblers and contribute to team training on best practices and new assembly techniques.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and engineering specifications (experience)
  • Experience with quality inspection tools and techniques, including CMM and optical comparators (experience)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (experience)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC-A-610 certification for electronics assembly (experience)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent (experience)
  • Experience with Honeywell or aerospace OEM assembly processes (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Precisely assemble aerospace components using hand tools, power tools, and automated systems per detailed work instructions
  • Conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections to ensure 100% compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly discrepancies, collaborating with engineering to implement process enhancements
  • Document production data accurately in SAP ERP system and generate reports for production metrics
  • Adhere to all EHS protocols, including proper PPE usage and 5S workplace organization
  • Participate in root cause analysis using tools like 8D and fishbone diagrams to drive defect reduction
  • Train and mentor Level 1-3 assemblers on advanced techniques and safety procedures
